I am pleased with this float. Very fast shipping. Good quality. As described. The buckle is secure and easy to use. I posted a video of the ease of opening the clear snap cover and the harness buckles. I simulated unbuckling with one hand because I need to be able to unsnap the harness with one hand while holding my grandson with the other.Do your research there are many knock-off's of the Mambobaby float - this is the real deal. For us the safety, quality, and peace of mind were worth the $30 extra. The price has dropped $15 since my purchase but I would buy it again. The authentic float has "mambobaby" embroidered/woven into the straps and the pull tab (on front - used to hang float for drying) has "mambobaby" printed on it. It also has the words "Safe-Air-Free" screen printed on the left and "Mambobaby" on the right across the surface of the float. We purchased the limited edition 'shark' float which included both the tail fin and the sun shade. While the float seemed stable enough and we did not use the tail today I can see that we will need it in the future-otherwise I can see how a child might flip backwards. I do not think it would be possible for a child to flip the float forward but without the tail I do believe they could flip or fling themselves backwards. Do NOT ever place or leave your child unattended in a pool.This float is well made but the material of the shade does not appear to be of great quality. The chest straps are not long enough. Our grandson will be 6 months next week he is 27# if I had any serious criticism it is that the chest straps are not long enough, and should be longer so that they could be further adjusted for larger babies. I took off one star for this. The velcro is wide so there does seem to be room for adjustment there, and the crotch strap has plenty of length for adjustment as well.While our grandson is just starting to crawl he immediately started kicking in the pool - on the very first use of the float. The float held him in a near perfect angle/position for swimming so I do not feel like I will be encouraging bad swim habits when I use the float. I am not being paid or compensated for this review.
I thought that the first time we put him in it he would not have a good reaction... I was wrong! He LOVES this float (maybe just loves being in the water) but this float gives us as parents a piece of mind that he is safe a secure in this. Laying on his belly looking out or on his back relaxing he loves it. I would totally recommend this to other moms!
Absolutely love this float! My son(6months) was so calm and relaxed floating around the pool and kicking. He’s long and skinny but this fit on him pretty well with some extra tightening! He was definitely living the good life in this thing especially when I had his canopy hooked up and the breeze would just pull him around the pool. He ALMOST fell asleep until his 2 year old cousin splashed him. Not to mention HOW WELL THIS THING FLOATS!! My nephew and myself were holding on at one point in the deep end and it didn’t lean at all. Even with big choppy waves the water cane no where near his face as he giggles away! I love it. He loves and his grandparents love it as well as the shark design lol we tried a few other brands with the blow up neck float and he was not fond of dangling into the water whatsoever.
Bought this for my almost 10 week old daughter but our cat, Mr. Handsome, thinks it’s for him. He gives it a solid 5 stars for comfort and support. The shade is perfect!Haven’t used it yet as we are waiting for the pool water to warm up a bit more but it looks great. We can’t wait to use it this summer!
This product is fantastic for my medically complex child. He is 5 years old and about 26 pounds. Due to his medical condition, he has no head control but this device allows for him to rest his head while still being able to see the other children in the pool. The tail fin prevents him from being able to tip himself over. It’s exactly what we were looking for so if you’re on the fence, I recommend taking the leap.
